As Norway grows in popularity as a safe and captivating travel destination, the demand for expert guides and immersive tours has never been higher.
As demand for Norway rises, so does the expectation for high-quality experiences. With Norway’s premium costs, travelers expect exceptional value—and guides play a key role in delivering that value.
Agencies require certified personnel and partners that can attest to the ability to deliver a high quality of service. Guides need organised and institutionalised forms of formal recognition of competence.
Currently, one of the markets with the highest volume of activity, the cruise industry is underserved, and the education is lacking in programs designed to address the particular needs of the cruise travelling guests.
With the Guide Academy we aim to ensure that those who wish to engage with the tourism industry as Guides or as Guide Agency can promise and deliver to expected standards of quality.
Our goal is to develop and certify guide skills according to the highest industry standards, meeting the needs of top employers. We offer flexible education and certification services that align with market demand. Additionally, we provide ongoing opportunities for guides to enhance their knowledge and skills, supporting their long-term careers in the industry and enabling diverse career paths.
Each year, Guide Academy will educate and certify 20 to 50 guides for the main season (April–October). We will also offer members optional opportunities for continuous development, including study materials, seminars, events, and study trips, ensuring they stay informed and engaged throughout their careers.
